I've had multiple women get in my whip and instantly start rappin kanye bars

Word for word

When nas is played complete silence and isolated lonely stares out the window until I cut the music down and spark a convo

Kanye music/catalog>>>>>Nas' catalog

Nas mc skills/lyrics>>>>Kanye's mc skills lyrics

By that logic, Drake music/catalog >> Biggie's catalog.

I aint changing shit. You said Ye can't go song for song with Nas yet, Ye has number #1 records and Nas doesn't. That's an oxymoron.

Sure, Ye can't make a record like The Message. He not lyrical enough. But Nas damn sure can't make a record like Power or Devil in a New Dress. He dont got the vision too.

I really have no knowledge on who has #1 records or who doesn't. That shit doesn't matter to me. I only care if the music is good.

Also, when I said Ye can't go song for song with Nas, I was talking about creative quality.

Btw Nas could easily make Power and Devil in a New Dress. Power is a kiddie version of One Mic, and Devil in a New Dress is a kiddie version of Black Girl Lost or The World.

Co-sign. He belongs in the conversation, just can't outrank a lot of people due in part to the ghsostwriting.

Still has a possible GOAT catalog.

I see the oldheads falling over themselves tryna discredit this though.

sorry to butt in. But i hate this argument. Both Doggystyle & Chronic are both classics. So to say that u feel the Chronic isnt as good as another classic album isnt saying anything negative at all.
Its an our generation thing to slander something good in order to make an argument for something else but u essentially compliment what you were arguing against.
Like when people would say "i like the Blueprint but Reasonable Doubt is better"
or "I dont like Jay-Z that much i feel Nas is better"- Huh
Nas is a legend and a top5 mc. MOST if NOT ALL rappers arent better than him. Sayin an mc isnt as good as Nas isnt saying anything at all

I'm not tryna slander the Chronic its just that I feel Doggystyle is Chronic 2.0. The Chronic is classic, u can't debate that

you know whats funny though, nobody responded to the "if kanye had nas' production" post.

No, he wouldn't. But that's another thread/arguement. (I thought we established that kanye is not a good lyricist as nas). And that question can be usedin a lot of cases: what if canibus had good producers, what if the blueprint was produced by ye and just blaze, rtc. Etc.

That he uses actual verses like dre i think so... not taking anything away from dre he a legend
he does have people in a room after he done writing a verse who help him fix the shit, bounce ideas and shit
pete rock said he has one room where he writes his rhymes.. another for making beats

the linear notes on every PHYSICAL copy of an album has the CREDIT for each song with each person who contributed.. if you all big KANYE fans you should own these.. I DO and im a love/hate kanye fan...

anyways the LINEAR NOTES ....................PROVE he has help on every single song he ever "wrote" and even his production he has atleast 1 other person gettin credit for the pbeat

I own every kanye album
outside of Jesus Walks, 808's (no rap on that album, a pop album), and AOTL there are no extra writers... outside of the people featured on the song, or the writers of the songs he sampled

Yall acting like its some big conspiracy he don't even hide this shit

If Kanye didn't produce, and rapped on horrible production, then he wouldn't be Kanye West. The creativity, the production, that's what makes him him.

That's like me asking, what if Nas wasn't lyrical and had Ye's production, would he still be hot? Could he make the same music Ye makes. Could Nas make "Runway". Then he wouldn't be Nas nigga LOL

no, it's completely appropriate for this thread. how is it not. that "music" argument would be valid if kanye didn't just sample music made by other artists.

Kanye is the most important figure in Hip Hop musically/artistically since maybe NWA . He brought life to the genre . Added at least 15 years to Jay-Z career ( A Legend ) . Help bring Twista to the mainstream . Jamie Foxx , John Legend . Common's career was rejuvenated with the help of Kanye . No he is not a top 5 rapper but he is a very good rapper and the musical aspect of his artistry sets him apart . Kanye is greater that just a rapper . Jay , Nas , Pac etc . And those guys are GOAT rappers . But thats the prob they are just rappers But Kanye is a far better artist because of his ability to make music and the diversity of the kind of music he produces. Its like comparing Stevie Wonder to Avant . Real Talk . Yea Avant is a singer , so is Stevie . But Stevie is a drummer , pianist . songwriter , experimental with sounds , producer etc etc etc . There are things that are unique to Hip Hop yes , But what is not unique to Hip Hop is that its MUSIC . And to be respected by musicians Hip Hop needs to have more niggas that do more than rap . Just my opinion
