How is "Girls, Girls, Girls" and "Warning" artistic? I love both songs but really?

As far as "Rewind"

>>>>>>

They're creative which is synonymous with artistic in the context we're referring to. And you know damn well Ye can't go track for track with Nas in anything, so just stop it.

Another creative Biggie song:

Jay song:

hows it trolling?

the facts are there

MOST of you KANYE "fans" dont even OWN his albums...

I OWN HIS ALBUMS..... READ THE LINEAR NOTES... he has never produced or wrote a song solo EVER on any of his albums

we talked about this already
other than rhymefest on jesus walks
all those were the writers of the samples he uses
or people who had verses on the song

at least for cd

Don't waste your time. Niggas think that sh*t is "gay euro club music" LOL

Watching those videos, Yeezy should think about directing.

That video is actually terrible both sound wise and directing-wise. It's okay content-wise and he gets points for trying to be creative, but c'mon bruh, overall that shit is wack. Especially trying to compare to a creative lyrical display of top notch emcees like Nas and them.

u gotta be young to not know about dre.

...................................................

almost every album Kanye has made has been game-changing. Honestly, i don't like Chronic that much, imo Doggystyle is just better. Dr Dre's "evolution" is not comparable to Kanye (and other producers), Ye went from H to the Izzo and Through The Wire to Stronger, I Wonder, to Dark Fantasy, All Of The Lights. As an hip hop artist, Kanye>Dre and Pac

People are making Kanye more than what he is... Dude is talented but that's where it stops
I was a fan of Kanye when I heard him on JayZs BP2... So I can say I'm a fan since the beginning I guess...
Just because he always goes left when Hip Hop goes right doesn't mean we should always applaud him
Im starting to think if Kanye was to have a Shakespeare theme on his next album niggas will call him a genius again...smh

Nas is just a lyricist, one of the best to ever do, (he's in my top ten), but when it comes to musicianship and artistry, Nas has nothing on Kanye West

think about if kanye had nas' production? would you hold him so high then? can kanye make great songs out of mediocre/decent at best beats(rewind, pussy kills, book of rhymes, last words, etc)?

my exact sentiments. Kanye is great, but his stans are kinda puttin him on a pedestal.

So does all of this praise apply to somebody like Dr. Dre?

Jermaine Dupri was beasting on Money Aint a Thing. Are we gonna call him a legendary rapper too?

Matter fact Timbaland & Magoo used to do their thing.

You keep changing subjects, are you talking about emceeing as in the art, or record sales and hit singles?

We're obviously talking about two completely different things. The OP said Ye is in the same class as Pac, Nas, Jay, and Big, so assumed we're talking emceeing. Artistry and musicianship when it comes to rap is about lyrical creativity and imagery to me. You seem like you're talking about producing and other things like that.

i thought he was clear that we're talking about musicianship...but thats just me. Musicianship is a lot of things but i dont think its limited to lyricism

Kanye music/catalog>>>>>Nas' catalog

Nas mc skills/lyrics>>>>Kanye's mc skills lyrics

samething would happen if you put g-rap in the car, and lots of others. that doesn't make the music better.

I aint changing shit. You said Ye can't go song for song with Nas yet, Ye has number #1 records and Nas doesn't. That's an oxymoron.

Sure, Ye can't make a record like The Message. He not lyrical enough. But Nas damn sure can't make a record like Power or Devil in a New Dress. He dont got the vision too.

sorry to butt in. But i hate this argument. Both Doggystyle & Chronic are both classics. So to say that u feel the Chronic isnt as good as another classic album isnt saying anything negative at all.

Its an our generation thing to slander something good in order to make an argument for something else but u essentially compliment what you were arguing against.

Like when people would say "i like the Blueprint but Reasonable Doubt is better"

or "I dont like Jay-Z that much i feel Nas is better"- Huh

Nas is a legend and a top5 mc. MOST if NOT ALL rappers arent better than him. Sayin an mc isnt as good as Nas isnt saying anything at all
