He is average though. Production cant make an MC a better spitter, just gives him a better background to spit on. Rap is also about the skill of the rapper, that hasnt gone away. And based on skills, he aint top 5. The best MC's imo have the best skills AND make classic songs.

You basically just defeated your own argument. Kanye is all these things. Kanye and Pac are the same rapper. Niggas who weren't lyrically skilled but made up in other ways.....one by pulling on your heart strings and making real ass music, the other with creativity, artist vision and the arrogance to push hip hop's borders.
