I've always considered him to be Pop. Anyone I come across who says he is R&B, I quickly tell them that he isn't and that he should be considered Pop. Funny, it happened to me this morning, too lol.

That being said, he is labeled as R&B/Pop.

Times are a changin' -- first Akon gets paid off Lady Gaga, now Usher is gettin' paid off this kid. Personally, I don't have a problem with it. It's not like he's on rotation on Hot 90-something or Power 1-oh-something ("urban radio"). Totally different market. Usher isn't a sell-out, he got smart. Hiis window for being a marquee drawis basically over so he's making business moves. And hopefully,t he money he makes off JB will allow him to co-sign some other artists with less broad appeal but a lot more talent.
