word

the social media embargo was lifted and film critics are loving this movie (full reviews remain under embargo until closer to ITs release)

i think i have only read one negative one so far

my favorite one says that this feels like an 80s fantasy/horror film and compares it to a nightmare on elm street

that is exactly what i miss about horror nowadays and its good to hear that the losers are all great in this — how close they are and how much fun they have hanging out together is one of the elements that make the book so great — its also good to read that there is some humor in this — kings novels have bits of humor to them (i just hope they dont overdo it)

oh

hell

yeah

Already took the day off of work. Im gonna go take my mom and little brothers to go see this shit haha. She let me watch the original when i was 5 and it fucked me up for years. I showed my little bro's the movie when they were 10 and they tried to play it off like it wasnt scary, but i could see the look of fear in their eyes. They are 14 now, but hopefully this is good enough to fuck them up a little bit.

ran across this yesterday

odd unedited bits of behind the scenes stuff and an interview with king

seems like intended for a future disc release or something

some of it could be considered spoliery

so beware

creepy/weird marketing they doing in toronto

LOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL ok so I wasnt tripping out I seen it on Bay street in the heart of the financial district & thought I was TRIPPIN. It dawned on me I knew it from somewhere but my mind was pacing to get home so I didnt even put 2 & 2 together.

its a good promotional stunt especially since the film was mostly filmed not too far from toronto

i get skeptical any time studios keep reviews under embargo until late but if this is a critical success it is going to do huge business

this will blow away the september opening weekend record ($48M)

and probably hits close to $70M

This will not hit 70m opening weekend in what is historically one the slowest movie going months no matter how good word of mouth is. I could see north of 50 million. Which isn't bad for an R rated joint with niche appeal and a $35 million budget. But $70 mil? Nah!
