I've already stated my genuine opinion of the movie in the movie section. It bombed cause of the wrong director for the right movie. Shit had great potential, but fell flat due to it's delivery in my opinion. I walked out on it after bout an hour, caught Fast and Furious for a second time.

Far as the nepotism goes... yeah, that's that racist shit. Cause passing down the torch is normal, expected, and even law in many cases. Yet a father and son, doing father and son shit is suddenly a problem out here? Did Estevez get that Memo? Did the Baldwins?

So this ain't bout a father and son doing a film together. It's about Will allowing another black star in. No crack heads, no white savior, no mami's, ex-convicts, no black men in drag, or troubled ghetto children. None of the stereotypes that hollywood so loves to force on us. Just a black father and his son being heroic. Name one movie where that has happened before?

I dislike the movie, but bullshit is bullshit regardless.

Charlie Sheen and most of the Baldwin brothers have been criticized for that in the past. And it's not just the nepotism that's the issue. If that's the case you would have heard all those complaints surrounding the Karate Kid movie too since that was basically Will and Jada pushing a movie to get their son out there. This one is catching so much flack because the nepotism is so blatant. It's not a simple instance of Will having a movie and giving his son a key role. It's essentially a movie where Will is using his star power to push something that's constructed in a way solely to showcase his son. Even most of these white people don't go about thing like that. They try to ease their family members into the spotlight not shove them down everyone's throats.

Like I said I have to see the movie anyway before i can speak on it. I just felt there were some racial undertones in the backlash it received. I'll might agree with you after I've seen the movie, who knows. It's not really my genre anyway to tell you the truth...

I'm really not all that up on shit honestly, so I can't just rattle of examples to give you. The most recent I can think of in Hollywood is Charlie Sheen when he was going through his problems, there were people saying that he only got where he was to begin with because of his father.

Anyways, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that none of these guys are speaking out of racism. I'm just saying I don't think that is the driving force behind the majority of the criticism.

Off the top of my head I can tell you that majority of Redskin fans, before last season, hated the fact that Mike Shanahan hired his son Kyle Shanahan and complained about it being nepotism all the time lol. It's a bit smaller level, but it does happen

That's debatable because there's a good portion of people who for some reason literally hate Willow and Jaden Smith as if they were not only adults but people who personally wronged them. I've rarely seen children garner as much negative comments as those two do. It's to the point that Will Smith can't even make a joke w/o somebody turning into a story about how they think those kids are spoiled. Nigga made a joke about emancipating Jaden Smith and it became an international story about how "the Smith kids are out of control"
