Is There Anything Else That Makes J.Cole > Drake?

I like both artists....I feel like they both touch on the same topics a lot but their approach is different... IMO Drake can do a "j Cole type song" and it can still come off relatively authentic whereas I can't see J Cole doing a "Lord Knows" for example

uhh...have you heard god's gift and rise and shine from his first album? those are similar to lord knows, just without the choir.

We can pick out a few songs in a discography and say only so and so can make that song, but I was referring to the overall perception of the artists tho...like JayZ made Meet the Parents...but I wouldn't say that's a typical JayZ song...with that said, Drake is more well rounded as an artist and more in tune to what's marketable more so than J Cole...they both nice to me tho

Yeah I heard those tracks and they are Ill...but I guess it comes down to a difference of cadences for a lack of a better word

Drake goes hard every single track, cole needs some life sometimes.honestly I think with better beats and a good a and r to tell him what's whack or not he can surpass drake.

Cole needs to either collabo an album with drake or separate himself from completely.he needs a livelier sound regardless tho.

The major difference I've noticed is Cole can rap about his early struggles more earnestly. Drake never really touched on his adversity (or lack thereof) until Started From the Bottom and that got mixed reactions. Cole can talk that Dollar and a Dream shit and it doesn't come across as contrived since we didn't see him on a preteen soap opera growing up, so that aspect of his story is a lil more relatable to most niggas. Other than that they are pretty similar topically.

Yeah, J Cole's subject matter and content is so much more diverse IMO.

Songs like "Dreams", "Born Sinner", "Blow Up" and "Dollar & a Dream" part 1-3 are why I think Cole's range is much more prolific than Drake.

Drake isn't saying much IMO

I like Drake but plz, J. Cole been better than Drake

Even when Drake was solely a rappin ass nigga

J. Cole was still better than him.

The Warm Up > So Far Gone

Born Sinner > Take Care, Thank Me Later

go head and flag this

I think Cole is the better rapper Drake just makes more hits and is more entertaining.

Drake can't really touch on the subjects that Cole can.

You won't get a "Show Me Something" or "Lost Ones" out of Drake but you won't get a "Started From the Bottom" from Cole. I feel Cole can grow into that tho.

if Cole lets niggas produce for him he can whereas Drake probably won't grow into that rapper where he touches on many subjects.

Sideline Story > Drakes debut

Born Sinner > Drake's second album

Drake is a more polished artist though, his is a better songwriter and his delivery is better. J Cole is a better lyricist and his flow is better imo. I also think Drake makes more entertaining music.

I would like to see J Cole get better production like what Drake gets, that's when i think that ''boring'' stigma will go away.
