Is there a better program for making gifs than Adobe Imageready ?

I use video programs to actually cut the clip to size, but Imageready to actually make the gif. If there are programs that do both,I would appreciate any suggestions.

well i dont do a whole lot of video editing anymore. but i still have sony vegas for when i do. i just edit the clip however in vegas and then save it as a gif. i would imagine, if you have a newer/up to date pc or lap top, that windows media center should have an option to save a small clip as a animated gif
