if it doesn't deal with something uncomfortable then it is probably not funny. have any of you ever wondered why a lot of funny jokes, usually refer to race, ethnicity, gender, pain .. etc? because laughter is a coping mechanism, sometimes we joke around to mellow out uncomfortable subjects. that doesn't mean that we are taking them any less serious.
