Nas is one of my favorite rappers, but anyone else ever get the feeling he doesn't know as much about what he's talking about as he should? Some of his songs have some glaring inaccuracies.

there's this doco on youtube, his homies is talking about he he used to read heaps of books, they even say he read a whole dictionary - front to back. but yeah, even with all that knowledge he seems to make himself sound pretty dumb

I think y'all are mistaking this for a Nas thread. I've said b4 that he is one of my favorite artists and IMO a contender for GOAT, I have no problem with dudes dropping knowledge. But when I hear Talib Kweli or Common adressing a topic, I truly feel like they know what they are talking about and have examined the issue. With Nas sometimes it just sounds like "Fact" dropping.

I've been saying Nas is a psuedo intellect.....He is not as smart as some of these fans of his believe. But hey at least he is spitting some different things instead of bling, money and cars. I still think he is highly overrated and has horrible beat selection and I get this "I am full of myself", intellectual vibe from him
