Chingy.

Chingy's sold more albums than Rick Ross in half the albums. Had bigger hits.

chingy had bigger hits than ross on his albums that flopped

MC hammer, Vanilla Ice.

Both should've had labels before Ross.

The GD's never chased him or anybody in MMG...

Anyways...It's just quiet over there right now from an overall view...When MMG as a label was "hot" it was cause Meek, Wale, Ross, and to a lesser degree Pill and Magazeen were all makin noise...They all had singles buzzin, there was excitement and energy...They can do it again, and soon as they do, this thread will be irrelevant...

But yeah...Ross's health, the label switch, and the fact that I think they realized they were moving at a faster pace than they could really maintain just slowed down the momentum...

...well there's not much of a chase when you're cancelling tour dates

Bigger record than any Ross single ever

And don't come with that "bubuubbubu but times were different" argument because chingy did it with out streams, spotify, pandora, internet radio and everything else they count as spins now.

That's cool, all those huge records, but lasted 3 years, niggas said Ross was over in 2008, 2 years after Hustlin, and with less hits Ross is still here still successful and not on couples therapy, so why even mention a chingy

The thread topic is off focus the question is about weather mmg is dead. Right now that answer is no. Are they overrated? Yes. People talk about mmg being on the radio well none of them have a song in the top 10 on the rap charts nevermind the urban charts which include r&b and rap.

However MMG is not going anywhere anytime soon. Ross keeps putting out mediocre albums but they do just enough to get gold or get notice. Tweet mills same formula he does just enough to get notice even after his album flopped he found ways to stay in conversations through bitchass behavior. Wale same thing the gifted just got enough sales and singles to not be french montana status.

There is a difference between survival and dominance. MMG is not dominating the game but they are surviving. While YMCMB artists scramble bushes yet 90% of the label does not have a release date this year MMG is giving artists release dates and pushing mixtapes. While taylor gang is falling apart mmg is keeping guys like stalley who are still waiting to drop debut albums.
