I could be wrong on this b/c the sales figures for indie albums are not easy at all to find, but didn't Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz go plat w/ Kings of Crunk? I do recall Billboard gave them alot of props and called KoC the most sucessful indie album in hiphop history...

You still gonna be dealing with a major.You gotta press em up,package em,and distrubite them.So you gotta pay somebody to that or give a major league distrubitor at least 15% percent to do that.

Once you pressing up and shipping more than 250k at once you dealing a major distrubitor and youre no longer "independant" for real.

If you mean like I only deal with a press and distrubitor type deal then yeah theyve been doing it since NWA.
