The promotion wasn't where it needed to be with this album. Most people don't even know its dropping. But more importantly, she moved way too far from Rap with this album. Sales will be lost cause Urban won't buy because of the Pop overload, and Pop won't buy because of the Urban overload. Its easy as fuck to turn a buyer off if they don't like an entire half of the album. This probably wouldn't be happening if Super Bass didn't exist lol.

Not to mention the confusion as to whether this is a re-release or not, there being no video for an official single, and her big Urban single just now taking off. I don't see a big drop, though.. which would be good of course. Plus this album is selling waaaaaay more than her last album internationally. Win some, lose some.

pretty much Nicki doing numbers all over, niggas in Japan slapping the album

I agree with this.

What I don't understand is that appeared that she and Kane Beats had this chemistry going. "I'm The Best" was nice and "Super Bass" was a huge crossover for her, but was still Urban. Why not let him do the majority of the album instead of getting RedOne and Dr. Luke? Not saying re-create past records, but there seemed to be a lot of potential with her and Kane.

What's not Urban about "Super Bass"?

You could make the argument those are bad numbers for her, but not sure if it's quite a flop..still underwhelming..Nicki is probably biggest waste of talent I've ever seen..

Being an electronic influenced Pop record doesn't stop it from being Urban. It's a song that also has rap influences and some R&B influences in it as well. It's still an Urban record even though it crossed over. Take a record like Usher's "OMG", that song has outside influences as well, but it's still Urban.

Cham, you make some vaild points but it seems you coppin pleas. Stop the "There was no Promotion", Chick been all over TV, Superbowl, Grammy the last 2 months. Sure they pushed it back but she's still been out there. Awareness has been high. Just admit it, She messed up with those terrible singles, "Stupid Hoe" her so called Lil Kim diss was a terrible mess which is why it has more dislikes than Likes on Youtube. "Roman in Moscow" came and went cause it was terrible also. "Roman's Holiday" grammy performance was wack and a mess also. Finally on her 4th time up to bat, she got a pop hit with "Starships" but that pop trash alienated all her hip hop fans. Nicki has nobody to blame but herself. 3 Terrible singles and a weak pop song, that's why her numbers are low. Atleast you admit she went to pop on this album cause that's what really happen. Also let's face facts, the album is getting average to weak reviews and pop fans are fickle. She needed to appeal to her hip hop fanbase 1st cause they are the ones who got her where she is.

Also if she wants to be Rhianna or Katy Perry you better have the singles. Sure they both have average 1st week sales but they have mad singles to keep the album going. She's released 5 songs already (Roman in Moscow, Stupid Hoe, Roman Holiday, Roman Reloaded) and only Starships caught fire, She's now releasing the Chris Brown callabo.

She don't have Rhianna or Katy singles to keep the album going, Platinum is not a lock at all especially if she drops 60% or more in the 2nd week.

Compared to her first album it is. I just seen somebody on Facebook say "That new Nicki Minaj album is sick!" but she's a dyke so...

That Grammy performance probably hurt her more than it helped her too....and then the whole "Pop" thing...seriously it's such a blatant attempt to sellout that most people won't buy into it. You can dress like Brittany and Kesha, make songs like Katy and Gaga, but the truth will remain you are not ANY of those ladies..AND those songs you're doing now are NOT what got you to the promise land which means there's a good possibility that that's not what YOUR fans want to hear.

Plus to be honest, I think people are turned off by all of Nicki's "characters" she seems more like a joke than anything..she'd be better off letting her music do more of the talking because she's really not a bad MC..especially compared to other females!
