Dre is relevant in name only..

AS a producer..

Quik >>> Dre

Question thread starter is Nas a relevant rapper? The answer is yes cuz if he dropped something today people would still listen just cause its nas. When ur a legend in the game or known for being great u don't have to prove anything or drop a bunch of mixtapes like future did to stay relevant. That's the perks of being a legend

Dre is a strange case. Id say he's technically not relevant. But due to dropping classics and people knowing hes got the magic touch. Every rapper wants to be the next Eminem from him.

Missed the thread and the bet but Dre is not relevant as a producer (IRL) nor do I think he capable of producing a hit

And I think you'd be hard pressed to find him producing solo ala Kanye.

It's OK to say this. Takes nothing away from his legend status.

I agree 'irrelevant' is the wrong word. His production isn't in hot demand anymore tho

That's what the argument is. Regardless of how many albums Compton sold, it doesn't seem to be a strong point to try to grab a Dre beat at the moment.

And I don't think he got the energy to produce a track right now

the Compton album..

somebody fill me in cause I honestly don't know and don't care to do the research..

but was that basically a Dre's Album IN NAME??

meaning a bunch of other producers getting a co'sign to contribute??

cause thats what I mean by Dre still bein relevant in name..

cause if u get a Dre co'sign ur basically in..

but aint nobody checkin for a Dre beat like that..

this a new generation.

Deep down this is dre In the game right now getting beats to artists now and how good those songs do and how good they are.

Is he relevant? Imo no

Young berg is more relevant than dre

Zaytoven is more relevant than dre

Dre = cool and dre

Hell no, who out there is checking for a Dre beat?

What about todays music scene points to niggas wanting to hear Dre tracks? When wack rappers have hits it goes to show you don't nobody need a Dre beat cause the scene likes the production that's out there, no one checking for G Funk!

I guess. Its in how you judge "relavent". For instance I played some songs from 2001 yesterday. Its "relavent" because its what I wanted to listen to currently. A lot of his older songs Chronic era are still songs I want to listen to now...making them "relevant" to me thats what matters. As far as current production, I'd say yeah the example of the latest song I heard produced by him was the TI song. It made me think, he only produces when he wants to its not lie he's putting out a lot of music.
