I think that was the problem... the pacing was awful... it didnt know what it wanted to be...
and with that said... its a classic to me
Shit the movie was parallel to the situation of its time. Blacks didn't know where they were heading, just trying to find a place in a society that deemed them monkeys.

Bump all that hood classic shit.. its a personal classic
saying shit is a hood classic is marginalizing it.. save that shit for... some bs like hotboyz
^word life...just a classic. Fuck that American way of thinking...all about classes and separation. That movie can stand up there with Oliver Stone and Stanley Kubrick shit IMO

Is this dude in it?
I do think its a classic
But I got it on DVD.. shit is good.
Fixed the bolded for ya pimp. And yea you talking about Bokeem Woodbine...lol, the crooked ass preacher who kept a fly ass cadillac on deck and then sang like canaries in a walt disney movie
Yo Dead Presidents will always be a classic. From the dude with the fake leg, hoping around because dude who owed money grabbed the wrong leg so this nigga just literally rolled on the ground next to him with the saturday night special aimed at his grills, to the shorty that was truly down for Larenz coming out the garbarge dump with two straps banging them thangs-shit is a classic. It told a story of a very turbulent time for our people. It gave that moment for a black man to get his view across on such a hoax horror filled war. Shit, just imagine that, being black fighting for a country that doesn't want you. Then when you return, not only are you dealing with the haunting nightmares of what transpired, you have to face millions of Americans still hating your existence. That amongst other points drove home. I love the end when Larenz just loses his cool. He couldn't take that shit and just through a chair at the judge. "After all I did for this country? I get life??" Shit is real. And Hughes brothers are one of the most underrated black directors of our time...
Now lets give a moment of silence to a
sistah who was down for the cause, in the movie, from being a panther to roll with 'Anthony' giving her life to save his...I hated to see her go in da flick
Dayum she is fine...Ms. N'Bushe Wright
And on that note...RIP to her father Stanley Wright...a helluva jazz musician...
