look, I'd like to believe this article's premise but it just reads like standard Evangelical paranoia/persecution complex to me.

It all sounds pretty right. The writing is on the wall and it all matches up with scripture. 2 Thessalonians 2 tells us that the last days (the tribulation period) can not come until there first be the "falling away", which is basically apostasy by those that profess to be Christians.

"1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God."

Jesus Christ in the book of Revelation speaks about the final church of the last days, the church of Laodecia. He calls it the luke warm church because it is neither hot or cold, so Jesus is going to spit that church out of His mouth. It is the apostate church of the last days. It's all ready here today, just as the article suggests. It's all about money in the church nowadays. All about prosperity. But Jesus Christ rebuked the church of Laodecia for thinking that it was rich, when it was really poor (spiritually).

14And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
