You can blame the player all you want, but the fact of the matter is that even without that player, there's a million more people who would do exactly the same thing. When the system is set up to throw millions of dollars at whatever woman can rap halfway decently while shaking their ass, you're going to get Nicki Minaj. And if she steps down, there's 10 more waiting to take her place. Blame the player all you want. The only thing it helps is your ability to judge people from a desk chair.

Nicki Has the talent you could see that from her Come Up DVD days BUT she let her Image and Gimmicks take over her as a Rapper. I said it when Nicki signed to Young Money she is going to turn right into a full fledge Pop Artist and thats a good look for her. But since she's a rapper in 2010 we re gonna judge her as such and she fell the F off.

What people fail to realize is that the "old Nicki" wasn't really the old Nicki. The old Nicki spoke and rapped that way to get discovered. THAT was the gimmick.

Do you think they would have put her in the 'Come Up DVD' if she was making funny faces and rapping about being a Barbie? NO.

It was a tactic. She dumbed herself down to please people and get accepted and once she didn't need it anymore, she threw all that shit away and became the artist she wanted to be.

I personally think she was garbage there but that's pretty much the only thing I've heard.
