Dark Knight is good but its definately overated, I prefer Gladiator as well to a lot on this list I also love Blood Diamond,Last King of Scotland, Bourne Supremacy/ Ultimatum, Miinority Report, Donnie Darko, Hotel Rwanda and the Pursuit of Happyness which I think are better than some of the films on this list

The highlighted are the ones I've seen and I'd put "Pan's Labyrinth" at #1 with "District 9" a close second.

Is this list taken from user ratings?

The departed at number one? bahhhh that movie was decent....no reply value at all. And as for the Dark Knight? it has no replay value either....in a couple of years people will watch that movie and see how corny it is. All of this is subjective anyway, people will have varying opinions.

Gladiator, No Country For Old Men, Traffic, Crash, Crouching Tiger, Benjamin Button, Hotel Rwanda, and Last King/Scotland > most of the films on that list.

Man Crash was so bland and one dimensional.....that might be one of the most overrated movies ever. Crouching Tiger was pretty decent, Gladiator was good. Never seen traffic before.....got Benjamin Button at the Crib its a good movie, but after watching it like 7 times it has little replay value, but it is a good movie though.

i don't really understand why you think crash was one dimensional when it told about ten different stories arcs. i agree that it was kinda overrated(winning best picture) but i think it was still one of the best movies of the decade.

and i just realized there aren't any comedies on the list http://community.allhiphop.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

there were some classic comedies: 40 Year Old Virgin, Little Miss Sunshine, Superbad, etc

Crash was bland to me and IMO it is not one of the top films of the decade.....as a matter of fact most people i know HATE that movie. I didn't hate it, but i found it really overrated....it just seemed like a easy movie to make...dealing with racism from all the races different points of views is very easy a 5th grader could of directed this movie.

i think the reason why the movie was well received by critics isn't because of the direction, but more because of the brutal honesty of the story. the story was more than just showing racism from different perspectives. i think crash was really the first film to touch on how EVERYONE has racial prejudices and how when an individual makes decisions based on those prejudices it just passes the hate and fear onto other people, creating more division. almost like the anti-pay it forward. personally i also liked that none of the characters were all "good" or all "bad". they were all flawed. you don't see that very often in america films.
