yes i have i probably know more about hip hop then u do.

I'm just gonna go ahead and let you keep believing that so a white kid doesn't embarrass you in front of this whole forum.

Born in '78, I grew up with hiphop. My high school soundtrack is '93-'97....WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU HONESTLY GONNA TELL ME THAT I AIN"T LIVE THROUGH?

well this doesn't apply to me and no disrespect to you but this does'nt make any sense at all like i said just because u live through the time doesn't mean u know more about hip hop then a young a head the problem with old heads is that they think because they were around during that time that they think they have more knowledge about hip hop that's some
elitism shit and real talk we need to get rid of that shit and to me it' does'nt matter how old u are if u have knowledge about hip hop and know your shit u are hip hop.
so you saying 20 years from today your kid (if you got any) is going to have just as much knowledge about today's world then you have now as you actually live it? re-read all my post and you'll see where I said someone can be very knowledgable through studies but not likely to be just as knowledgable as one who lived it hardcore. Do we understand the biblical day just as well as moses does just because we studied the bible for 20+ years. What I said wasn't a diss at younger fans. Just putting into perspective. if kids know as much or more than their parents, they wouldn't need parents.

Maybe career wise you have a point, though I'd argue Jay-Z helped make hip hop into the giant industry it is today, but Jay is the more accomplished artist, no matter when you grew up.
that's true. But one has to also understand that LL 'helped make hip-hop into the giant industry it is today' in order for Jay to work it the way he is doing it. Let's not forget that LL and Jay-z are the same age and come from the same era. Coincedence? I think not.

thanks to google...is probably the point he's trying to make. that don't mean you don't know. but it means you got your info 2nd or third hand versus someone who lived it. like I can read as much as I can find about Tupac getting murdered but I wouldn't have shit on the people who were standing on that corner watching when that car rode up on the side of him and blasted him.

I don't get into opinions of music. That's different. a nigga likes what he likes and that's on him. But when a young fan tells me some shit like Soulja Boy brought swag into hip-hop and I know better, I'm gonna correct him. But again that's when the young dude is usually gonna come with that 'you old heads think you know everything' shit.

this does'nt make any sense fam point is if your know shit about hiphop your hip hop to me everything else for the most part is irrelevant

that's an interesting statement and it might help actually make my point. Em is from my Detroit neighborhood (4 blocks over) and we rapped in cyphers and kicked it in the same places before he became famous. The high school Proof used to sneak Em into to rap during lunch time (Osborn High on the corner of 7-mile and Hoover) is the high school I graduated from. I saw the dude's come up. Media only got ahold of his story after he blew up. Everything is not written and some of it that I know exactly about got fabricated. If a Stan (not saying you are) tells me some shit they know only from all the magazines they read/studied they're gonna miss some things I know that was never printed or was fabricated. I'd obviously know more or differently than that Stan. That's all I'm saying. Studying never = living it. There is no way around that fact

this the thing with this weak theory is that that's not eminem's whole history

dude you say that after everything I write LOL. Cool. It basically confirms what I been saying the whole time. That i don't come here to diss or flame. I'm was there so I come to share knowledge i got first hand and not shit I read or heard about. But like I said, the young dudes like yourself just refuse to hear it and blow it off as 'that old nigga that actually lived it thinks he know everything and I studied hip-hop so I know way more than he does'.

It's cool lil homie. I aint trippin or gonna try to change your perspective. Just trying to share what I witnessed. if you aint with it then oh well *Kanye shrug*

it's like me telling some dude I know his city or his family better than he does because I read about them....eventho i never actually been there or met his fam. That don't mean I know nothing about your city or fam but I'd be an arrogant idiot to believe I know as much or more than you do about it/them. I thought that was common thought processing

Thats EXACTLY what your doing by making this thread...you say you can learn about shit you haven't been through but why can't '90 and later cats learn like you?

Fucking worst poster of 2011.

EDIT...mistook this clown for the T/S...he is just as fucking dumb as him though.
