but not every dude born 91 and over is saying that shit. And honestly the people permoting allot of the lame fucks like waka and gucci and wayne to the kids are 80's babies in radio right now. Look at any radio morning crew those are older heads hyping up this bullshit rap to teenagers to get paid.

If you weren't born during vietnam, then your opinions on Vietnam doesn't count.

If you weren't born during the civil rights movement, your opinion on Malcom X and MLK does not mean anything.

If you didn't live through the Great Depression, you probaly don't know anything about it.

Forget that you read multiple books and study these issues, if you weren't born around that time, then your opinion is null.

See how stupid you sound?

I was born in 1980. Someone justify how "Bruh Bruh" or "Oh Lets Do It" is worthy of listening to? For me its hard to listen to anything because everytime i hear Nikki my ears bleed perfusely.

"people fear what they dont understand, hate what they cant concur"

In a year that saw the release of the masterpiece, Distant Relatives, I dont see how you can defend artists like Soulja Boy, Wacka Flocka, Gucci Mane and Lil Boosie. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but those artists r like caricatures, they r basically real life versions of Gangstalicious and Thugnificent

This the shit I hate, ok I was born in a different era and I like what I like, case closed. I can't bash a cat for liking what he like. If I don't like the new shit out I don't listen to it, and if it's a thread made about it I don't go in and bash shit, I don't know about it so I keep it moving. And on the other hand, somebody make a ole school thread and some young cat will come in and call it trash, but bear in mind in the next 20 years some young cat now will be a old cat bumping his Wayne, Wacka, Gucci or whatever and some new cat is going to bash his shit, it's cycles.

And yeah I liked Rakim, Kane, KRS and all that back in my day, I can't force that on somebody else. Just like your parents liked they music and when yours came along you did your thing. Now looking for new music by said artist, I doubt it, my tastes have changed over the years. And most artist only sound good for so long til somebody else comes along and outshines them

This Thread is beyond retarded.

My generation >>>>>>>>>>>> previous generations by far.

every generation thinks that lol. and older niggas do look down on younger sometimes like "wtf"....its a cycle. but we used to look up to older niggas, gen x admired o.g. shit for some reason. always wondered what it was like to be in the 60s or 70s or whatever, didnt think that shit was wack off top (except the clothes lol)....they put us on to game, music, partying. look at rap..gen x producers sampled music because we grew up on it and liked it, niggas wasnt like "marvin gaye/james brown/george clinton aint shit fuck that old shit". you can admire the past and still rep your generation. and old niggas gotta set examples and be cool wit lil niggas shit sometimes, that helps

Amazing that no one has stood up for the new generation of songs like i asked. I keep seeing comments that this thread is "retarded" but i have not seen Waka Flacka anywhere.

But thats not the whole generations voice. There are conscious rappers in my generation you just have to do your reaseach. Me personally dont even rap and perform spoken word poetry and i aint talking about hoes and cars im talking about real life shit. But all theese old 70's 80's crack babies, just turn on the radio and conclude that explains our entire generation. Yall old fucks the same fucks who had rappers who were just as materialistic as us yall the same fukcs who looted and started race riots and didnt become the change in the world you are seing with this current generation. Yest we have issues but just like yall were back in the day we are young and learning to grow up.

That's the depth of the problem right here.

These artists over the age 25 rapping about shit like they're teenagers i.e., that "second child hood" mentality.

i was also born in 90 and i agree. There are allot of people listening to wack shit from the radio but then you got people in my age bracket fucking with the real shit. And the the thing is some people from this age bracket do reasearch because our generation is curious as fuck. We want the answers to everything so we listen to old stuff from the 90's we listen to the early hip hop and some of us fuck with that.

Bruh, thats a stupid thing to say, hip hop is in my blood, ive done my reasearch n have been a hardcore fan puttin people on to good hip hop music since i was 11 n now im 19, miss me with that shit. u jus sound ignorant.

thats like me being 30 in egypt sayin if u were born after 1988 then ur opinion doesnt matter becuz mubarak was doin big things in our time, when at the same time its the young people rising up. jus like hip hop young people on that internet trend.

I was born in 1982 but its the only form of music I have ever followed from being a kid, so I remember all the "golden age" and the "classic" beefs as they were unfolding....

I read some oppinions on here and I think to myself that this guy doesnt know what he is on about, and then I realise that they were probably just out the sack when the original thing happened so why would they know...

Am I the only one that feels like this?

If you were born after 1990 then please don't comment

matter fact thats like me sayin if u from UK r opinon doesnt matter cuz hip hop was born in the US.....think b4 u make threads man

You can't just give a cutoff date based on the year someone was born. With age and experience, people come to understand and appreciate more about the art form.

For example, I was born in 86, and when I was in high school I thought Tupac was a great MC. It's not cause of what time I grew up in, just that I was in high school and still had a lot to learn. Now that I'm older I know he's garbage and I'm kind of embarrassed I ever thought he was good, but I also know a lot of these little kids will realize the same thing about Wayne over time (unless they're just hopeless retards)
