Live Nation has nothing to do with Jay-z side businesses. They fund the record label and Roc Nation recoups that money through touring from Rihanna, J Cole, Jay, Alexis Jordan and all those big name producers they manage. Why do you think Jay-z is slowly putting out artist, he is doing the minimum to recoup and fulfill the 10 year obligation. Watch him turn the label into something big as soon as his contract is up with Live Nation or renegotiate for a bigger contract.
In the music industry, a 360 deal is a business relationship between an artist and a music industry company. The company agrees to provide financial support for the artist, including direct advances as well as funds for marketing, promotion and touring. The artist agrees to give the company a percentage of all of their income, including sales of recorded music, live performances and any other income.
Rap acts, for example, might lose out, since their recordings can be expensive to produce and very few become touring successes. On the other hand, rappers can attract lucrative endorsements for products from sneakers to computers to soft drinks; many have started apparel lines. With an eye to a piece of that potential revenue, Atlantic recently signed the Brooklyn rapper Maino to a 360-style pact.

Maybach music is also a viable choice, Wale and Meek Mill have been doing good since they signed a ot better than most of they peers and Ross seems like he's the type of cat to let his artists shine, something that a lot of rappers who are running labels don't do.
Def Jam at the moment is a bad choice but if they put the right person in charge (Irv Gotti) then I'd have to seriously consider it.
straightupsho;4057881 said:i think it depends who benefits the most from the GOOD Music album, like Wale and Meek had hits from Self Made, they got albums, Pill never really blew up the same way. At the very least Pusha drops something this year and Cyhi starts getting more recognition

bmoreeast;4058175 said:People naming all these Labels yet only one of them have actually been beneficial to their artist lately and thats MMG.
GOOD Music has probably the most talented roster yet none of them has anything on the radio or any tours going on other then Big Sean. Big Seans success has actually been the result of his own grind.
Roc-Nation does absolutely nothing for their artist other then the recognition you get standing next to Jay. Look at Cole, he got zero push from Jay the past 2yrs despite being one of the most talented rappers to come out these last couple yrs. He drops a successful album then Jay comes out of the woodwork and claim Artist Development! Thats some bullshit!!
If i were to sign it would be with MMG because it seems to me that Ross wants his artist to shine more then himself and gives them the opportunity to get their music out there.
usmarin3;4058208 said:So J Cole magically wished his way on to Rihanna's tour, Drake tour, have his songs in Derrick Rose and MLB the show commercials. Just because Roc Nation aren't being spoon fed like how MMG are doesn't mean they aren't being supported. What happens when Rick Ross ain't hot no more, ain't none of them niggas outside of Wale gonna be able to stand on their down.
