Good try I doubt this thread will do numbers like the Em being black one. If Nas was white he would be known more around the world, since he would be the greatest white rapper of them all. He would be selling Em numbers for albums right now. In terms of people accepting him it's hard to say cuz so many niggas now hate on Nas with that "Nas lost" shit and don't give him credit as a legend in the game so him being white I wouldn't know if it would help his respect or not.

Not at all.

He wouldn't have his roots as fuel for his subject matter and content. He'd be a completely different rapper.

Whether you want to admit it or not, white or black, Eminem revolutionized Hip Hop not by his race but his edgy, over-the-top, lyricism. The man is a genius regardless of skin tone, especially during his formative years early on in his career. His race did play a large factor in garnering a fan base to sell as many records as he did but in the end his skills are not a reflection of his skin.

I'm sure Nas, if white as much of a reach as that concept is, would find away to craft his music to produce quality material because in essence he is a poet and talented with words. He would lack the ability to relate his general audience so that would hurt his popularity. I guess if you put it in the realm of never hearing Nas or what he raps about and only going off his ability to write dope rhymes, then maybe he would have the talent to be like Eminem, maybe.

Nas would be thought of Like John Lennon as a Musical political genius, He would be placed on pedastal for being so grounded and in touch with the world then he would be murked for speaking to much about the plight of the disenfranchised...
