I still don't know why BIG is a top ten rapper to a lot of ppl.

Fuck u mean? He has two back to back classics. One of the dopest lyricist of all time. His flow was impeccable. Two of his albums are debatably in the 10 top hip hop albums of all time. Fuck is you talking bout.

Thats more than 50 I could name more as well Lil Wayne is fucking wack.

Yea they can rhyme but can they make songs,… half yo list can't even make songs or a complete album

So in other words its really about mainstream success despite Most of the list having gold/platnium albums and songs to there resume as well as being grammy nominated.

FOH Lil Wayne is overrated garbage.

Do nba players play 2 win the game or to try an win the championship?

You can be the goat ball player but do you have rings
?

This make no fucking sense what so ever.

Seeing as the gold/platinum albums and songs in rap = NBA championship

That analogy makes sense.

A "ring" would be a #1 hit, a gold/platinum plaque or a grammy award. And if you get all three in one year I'd consider that a "ring".

I wonder how many rappers got a #1 hit, a platinum plaque and a grammy award all in the span of 12 months?

No #1 hit do not equal a ring. #1 hits if anything is the MVP award. Hundreds of rappers have had a #1 hit. Few rappers have had undisputed classic albums that changed the game and have replay value.

This is the #1 issue with wayne when it comes to his ranking. He had 2 great albums in C1 and C2 but the #1 hits and platinum albums outside C1 and C2 did not stand the test of time. Nor did those albums have a strategic flow and focus to make them as legendary.

Wayne put out a shit ton of material and was flashy and quick like an AI or Russel Westbrook. But that doesn't get you top 10 of all time access. As there are 10 players you could put above AI as far as the NBA all time list.

I'm not saying Wayne is top 10 DOA, but he's achieved tangible accolades

4 Grammy Awards

Best Rap Performance 2017 - No Problem

Best Rap Album 2009 - Tha Carter II

Best Rap Song 2009 - Lollipop

Best Rap Solo Performance 2009 - A Milli

Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group 2009 - Swagga Like Us

4 Platinum albums

The Block Is Hot - Platinum

Tha Carter II - Platinum

Tha Carter II - 3X Platinum

Tha Carter IV - 2X Platinum

1 number one song

Lollipop - May 3, 2008

I don't know how far you want to take the basketball analogy, but if you have 4 Grammys, 4 Platinum albums and a number one song, I'd say you have a "ring". Not saying that makes him top 10 DOA but he's certainly accomplished what any aspiring rapper wants to accomplish.

Learn how to read old nigga. I said undisputed classics are what people judge niggas on. Wayne is a hall of famer and his stats sales wise speak for him to be a legend. But to crack the top 10 his albums have to be known by fans as classics. Every album outside of C1 and C2 are not even up for debate about if they are classic albums. Most of fans don't even know a song like "Get of tha Corner" exists let alone lights out being close to a classic album.

He can be in the talks for top 15 or 20 but as far as his overall body of work and how people think of him he is not top 10 DOA. The majority of his albums and mixtapes are fast food.

Wat tha ppl say an wat tha numbers say is 2 diff things thats like sayin the ppl think a.i is better then Jordan bcuz he crossed em but to tha nba Jordan got tha rings an ai don't so who's better wit better stats

Sales are not the same is rings though as sales is based on popularity and rings in sports are based on winning games not popularity.

This is why Carter 3 sold more than the first 2 Carters but isn't a better overall project. The top 10 in sports is based strictly on titles and stats. The top 10 in hip hop isn't based on rings otherwise Biggie would never be in anybody's top 10 given he only had 2 projects. What the top 10 in hip hop is based on is what projects stand the test of time. Nas Albums stood the test of time and are still talked and raved about today 20 years later. Wayne is a decade removed from C1 and C2 and his Studio albums aren't nearly as revered as an Illmatic or Reasonable doubt or Ready to Die.

Big not in my top 10 stop been bias that's only ny thoughts you sir must be frm ny or east coast… an that's why everyone always say how. An big be top 10 wit only 2 albums… ny respond oh he has 2 classics wat makes them classics only because ny says so see bra that's tha difference wit big an PAC you can consider PAC tha greatest of his stats he accomplish way more then big… this tha thing if I dropped a cd 2 mor I can careless who says my shit hit my question is did you buy it

Stop sliding away from the point of this thread which is about wayne. Wayne point blank does not have 2 undisputed classics in any region. If that was the case the South would be riding to free Wayne from his contract and the South would still be high on Carter 1 and 2 than they currently are.

When Wayne tours in the South the nigga doing small club shows if any shows as a few tours ago he didn't even have a tour stop in Louisiana period. So weather you have biggie in your top 10 or not Wayne isn't in most niggas top 10 regardless of region. And in modern day 2017 niggas not even talking about his best work let alone playing it that often.

Wayne's aim was never fa tha south from day 1… he always wanted 2 be up ther wit tha old young spitter fabolous,Juelz,Jhood,Cassidy, gunit, New Orleans been abandoned Wayne they only claim him when he was putting on fa tha city errbody in tha boot was rocking wit boosie… an in the eyes of the east coast he's not up 2 par wit big jay nas but he has reached higher then other mf like jadakiss an you not a real Wayne fan if not youll kno wayne never dress talked rap like tha south an Wayne took over ny when his mixtapes were rocking he had ny an tha east on lock… Wayne spent a lot of time in Harlem an philly… facts

Wayne never took over/had Ny on lock.

When Wayne start to bubble up here hov had shit on lock and went to do the Def Jam gig.

50 & Gunit and Killa & Diplomats had shit on lock with the tapes.

Fab and Santana were suppose to have next.

Wayne started to fuck with the Dip and got a lil burn here but hell Jeezy buzz was bigger.

After that Pap, Max and Stacks took the mixtape game up here.

Wayne went on to become the Feat artist on everyone's tracks and blew the hell up and had his run

Wait nigga. So i have an east coast bias? Then i get accused of not being a true wayne fan because i don't respect the fact he was biting new york and spent time in philly?

At the end of the day Wayne tried to emulate a mid atlantic sound. It was fast food hot back in the day but the calories and nutrients didn't have longevity to still be hot in 2017. Wayne had hella mixtapes that were a 2 year lease on the entire country. But looking back the shit didn't age well. Yes dope punchlines here and there. But by 2013 you realized his mixtapes were the same rewritten bars about beating the pussy up like....life is a bitch and death is his sister....im hotter than the (insert metaphor here).

Wayne had a dope run no doubt. But when we look back on the flood of music the majority of it was unorganized ADD punchlines. The Minority of the shit was quality songs and studio cuts like BMJR or Hustler Musik.
