wow! how in the hell can Jay Z be considered better than Ice Cube. he has never made anything bigger to black culture than Friday. i always forget that cube has Friday franchise under his belt. It dont matter what coast, state, hood you are in...there is a 9/10 chance that a black person has one of these movies in his/her DVD collection. hell i got all 3 dvds. i still have Friday on VHS and a laser rotted Laser Disc version of it. Not only that but cube launched chris tucker career and mike epps career. chris tucker went from 5,000 to 40 million for RH3. Mike Epps has been in all kinds of movies, standup, animation, music in the past decade his name is cemented. Players Ball is another hood classic that a black person has in their collection. wow this all comes from a rapper that owned his own movie production company (joint venture with New Line Cinema/Miramax) while Jay Z was coon shuffling in Def Jam offices. 2. Ice Cube probably financed the movie so he was the one taking the risk if the movie was a huge flop.

3. The movie catapulted Chris Tucker to A-list stardom. That was an opportunity anyone would give anything for. Jon Heder of Napoleon Dynamite was paid 1G if I remember correctly. This up and coming actors will work for free just for that big break.

Well chris won in the end. His role in that movie gave him the incredible promotion he needed to make 20 million a picture just a few years later. Ice won too, by maximizing his profit.

I guess all the stunt actors in hollywood are paid more than the stars of the films by your logic. Chan choosing to do his own stunts is his choice. That has always been his thing. Majority of people went to watch those movies cos of Tucker. Hence he should get more money.

Most people went to see that movie for the both of them, but it would have worked without Tucker (just replace him with any other black funny guy), not so much without Jackie Chan though.
