the private sector was highly unregulated before 1930 howd that work out...hold on bush makes tax then voila another depression...corporations dont want to be held responsible yet they want and need the public to buy from them...they say that the environmental problems that they create should be paid for by taxes yet guess what they want to cut taxes...the rich arent hiring anybody with their money they are hoarding it

I cosign this. I'm no fan of Obama but his plan is way better than anything Republicans have offered. Raising taxes on the rich will give us much needed revenue to not only pay off the debt but help create new jobs, as what happened during the Clinton administration. Republicans make me sick to my stomach.

Taxes were raised during the Clinton days and guess what? 21 million jobs were created. When will Republicans have the balls to admit they're wrong? Again, Obama spends too much money and I agree with that but when are we going to see a Republican job bill?? They've yet to send any job legislation forward since taking the House, I wonder why.

i'm not going to say taxes on the rich shouldn't be raised. however:

--it's not going help pay the debt off much if you pair it with more spending;

--Clinton also benefited from an excellent economy that was powered by a tech boom, not by raising taxes on the rich

which, again, is not to say you SHOULDN'T raise taxes on the rich (or let tax cuts expire or whatever)
