The Arsenio Hall Show got cancelled. For the younger generation that doesn't remember, Arsenio Hall had a GOAT late night show from 1989-1994. The first reason it was GOAT is because he had LL Cool J on back in 89 and LL invented the term GOAT. He had Kool Moe Dee on the next week and they discussed their beef. Arsenio didn't just have rappers perform but they sat on his couch and he talked with them for five or ten minutes. Other late night hosts like Dave Letterman, Johnny Carson, Jay Leno and Joan Rivers might of had a rapper perform once or twice a year but they weren't sitting on the couch.

So anyway, Arsenio Hall, Yo! MTV Raps, Rap City, a syndicated show called Pump It Up with host Dee Barnes were all on the air during that era. If you lived in New York City they had Video Music Box with Ralph McDaniels which came out in 1984 and I think its still running. This was before the internet so if you were really into Rap you might schedule your weekend around those shows.

So that was 25 years ago. Arsenio Hall got back on the air last year but they cancelled it. Fair enough. I'd like to see the so-called rap moguls bring the show back. Even if it doesn't get the ratings, its the principle. We can't let our shows get cancelled because White people don't watch it. Even if the show loses money and doesn't make a profit from sponsors it should still be on the air. We owe it to Hip Hop and Arsenio Hall who is really the first Late Night Hip Hop talk show host.

Remember when Moesha was the number 1 watched show in Black America and Hispanic American homes?

I don't think young Black people are use to watching TV programing Black produced that's not rachet, add that to Late night TV being a bit old and outdated makes Arsenio job tough but he earned a second season.

1. Rosenberg is much less of a vulture than a lot of radio personalities and sucker deejays across the country.

2. Some of the people you named are vultures, namely 50 Cent who is largely responsible for rap being the way it is now with his decisive childish tactics. He and Dre turned their backs on how many Black people for Iovine and Eminem?
