Chewie is no.1 as for black actors right now. I hated "2012" but he was the best thing about it and he proved again how versatile and talented he is. From indies to shitty blockbusters. This guy is a raw talent.

Remember watching The Wire and thinking, "Fucking hell, Stringer Bell's a proper evil cunt". I then saw an interview with Idris Elba on some programme and I was shocked when he started speaking. The man's a proper Hackney lad, no idea he was British. He had the (as far as I know) Baltimore accent down like a fine art. It wasn't like watching Dominic West play McNulty and blatantly hearing his accent slip through. Next thing I'm watching Elba on RockNRolla. The man is a sick actor and deserves all the praise he gets
Chiwetel Ejiofor is a sick actor as well. He won me over when he was in Dirty Pretty Things with Audrey Tautou and he's a right bastard in Serenity. These two definitely deserve to be top billing and have headlining status in Hollywood but the way the Hollywood system seems to work is by having a black quota: Hollywood doesn't want too many black actors taking all the white actors' jobs. As long as Will Smith and Denzel are still doing it they don't have a chance even though there's talented as hell and there's blatantly room for those two at the top as well
There's loads of black British actors and actresses that are killing it and deserve praise at the moment

yea he has the potential to being up there with Denzel Washington, Will Smith, Morgan Freeman, Samuel L Jackson, Jammie Fox, Don Cheadle, & Forest Whitaker. Guys like him, Terrence Howard, Derek Luke are just one 'award' worthy film from being in that group of guys. T.Howard just needs a more aggressive/bad guy role IMO.
