I loved.....
how we use to talk into late night hours,
We'd laugh and joke like we was cowards.
I loved it when he'd always reassure he never afar,
He'd play his piano and hyme twinkle little star's.
I loved it how he stopped all my families raging wars,
making me forgive those like my birth mom's,
even when it hurted to the very core.
I loved it when we exchange poems,
performed them on stage mad stoned,
even recited them thru the phone.
OH! how I miss his voice tone!
I loved how he was there for me on day's like chemo,
He help me deal with cancer,
even though he didn't know the answer.
I loved it how he cared for my babies when i wasn't there
He held me down when no one else cared.
I loved the sound of his laughs and his silly dances,
all the while, we were eating poetry enhances.
I loved it when we played question game's,
somethings we've said and in a million year's we'd never claim.
I love how he fell in love with not only me but my culture,
my flesh and blood, and my poetry scriptures...
Today, all these wonderful things I loved about him, I question..
where did we've go wrong?
I know in my heart our friendship was strong,
Now its ripped and torn,
on stage with you, reciting our poems is where we really belong.
Don't you know...
Your smile is the sound of my laugh
your voice is the sound of my poetry
your touch is the feel in my thigh
your kindred spirit is the breath of my life....
And becasue of all that...
I loved you for how you have loved and that I simply loved....
