Strongly disagree with this, both styles are too different to even compare them. Jay is the best at what he does, the wordplay shit and Nas is the best at what he does,the street shit and painting vivid pictures. That who makes better music or is a better lyricist are relative to what your preference is.

I just feel like people give Nas the benefit of the doubt alot of the time because he isn't flashy, when in actuallity he is.

After the JAY-Z/NAS battle both rappers clearly got stronger.

What does that mean? Nas bounced back and continued his trajectory toward critical success (Stillmatic, God's Son, Distant Relatives) and Jay-Z reignited his glmour life persona and took over the industry. They both won because of the beef. Some might say Nas lost in his personal life, but his personal life just keep feeding his critical greatness. It gave us Distant Relatives, and hopefully, another great album.
