I Know You Nerds Like To Bicker Back and Forth But Here's The Truth: Kendrick=J.Cole=Drake

Am I the only one who thinks drake is more lyrical than both kendrick and cole. I think drake's image hurts him in the eyes of hip hop heads. Drake is just too popular (commercial), he also has the most female appeal out of any rapper out now (possibly of all time), he is seen as privileged and did not grow up in the hood or have a "tough" up bringing, plus he also does not rap about social political issues like cole and kendrick do. I think all that make hip hop fans automatically pick cole or k-dot over drake.

If you ask me cole and kendrick have not made a more lyrical song than tuscan leather. drake's does not get enough credit for his lyrical ability, the title track views from the album views is an amazing track also.

If we were to get a mix of the best of cole, best of kendrick and best of drake and we using all their lyrical songs I think drake clearly has the better catalogue of lyrical songs.

J Cole average as fuck to me but I can tell music means a lot to him. Drake is wack and K. Dot is dope.

Lyrically, Mick Jenkins drinkin' water on all them niggas

Lyrically I think J.cole is dope but album wise he's mediocre and still doesn't have a classic. Outside of that he's dope. Niggas praise Jcole highly because he's the underdog.

2014 FHD classic

They are all average as fuck, honestly. Kendrick has no flow, with over hyped lyrics. J. Cole is average lyrically, with juvenile subject matter, and Drake makes Kylie Kardashian music...

Nah it's because he is relatable to you like you said earlier, the college generation. Not everyone is out here winning at life like Drake, and can't relate to him.

But to play devil's advocate, the flip side is why niggas hate Cole or think he is mediocre because be is seen as a sad, complaining, boring ass rapper because they can't relate.

I actually understand both sides, but Cole music is more relatable and real to me. I don't know "pop style" as Drake would say.

Krit>>>

1. Krit

2. Kendrick

3. Cole

4. Drake

It was only a matter of time before someone in the IC came in the thread to overhype Krit's underperforming ass.

I legally purchased Krits first album and have copped his mixtapes. But that nigga has no solid position in hip hop. He can't split or have dope shit like the new underground rappers. At the same time he fails to be able to make hits or have a movement of his own for mainstream hip hop.

Not to mention his region of the country don't even fuck with him heavily. Cole has a huge following in North Carolina and NYC (where he came up rap wise), Kendrick owns the west with the TDE regime. Drake is Toronto and have elevated that city. But the south don't really rep Krit like a proud banner of their region.

You niggas say TPAB isn't a classic but FHD is. TPAB spoke to an era a moment in time (racism, police brutality, self hate, religion). FHD was good but classic iuno bout that, it wasn't better than FNL. But hey you're entitled to your OPINION. J.Cole is praised higher because he's still the underdog. Wait until his next album. You're already seeing it with Kendrick Lamar albeit slowly. In 2 years niggas on the IC will despise Kendrick and say he overrated, only had 1 good album and "fell off" LOLOLOL all because he's going to exceed expectations. It'll happen to J.Cole too.

Just because you talk about those topics doesn't make it a classic. TPAB did talk about many issues. But to me the replay value of TPAB and the way he presented the issues could have been done slightly better. Shit Kendrick himself talked about not performing parts of TPAB live due to this.

The thing about FHD is that shit connected with fans and people more than TPAB did. Part of anything life changing is how you connect to it. Nigga performed the entire album every night and still sold out shows. His label and promoters wanted cole to just do his hits for the bitches and mainstream rap fans on the tour last year. But he said fuck that shit i am going to take a risk and do the whole album. And it still was a success.
