I'm really shocked how many of you would tolerate blatant verbal abuse on the job. Really?

I swear to God I would walk the fuck out right after I told them how I felt. I've been unhappy on a job before and I've despised my supervisor and dealt with it, but I would never allow anybody to call me a fucking idiot. How could you even return to a job after that?

@chi - The lesson would be not to tolerate disrespect no matter what. You can do this in an intelligent manner without getting violent or irate.

Jamel would have gone off too..we all know he's got anger issues. Stop fronting.

I don't think anybody is arguing that it wasn't total disrespect. But it seems weird for a manager to randomly call someone a fuckn idiot. Notice we never heard any of the dialogue from Axel himself. Nor did he state what his attitude and body language displayed. Does that justify the manager's words? No. But I'm not going to assume Axel handled the situation right from the jump.

Secondly, u ask how can we return to a job like that. Simple, I'm returning and the manager ain't. But either way somebody's losing a paycheck. Most importantly though, it won't be me.

But yeah... managers/supervisors at all types of jobs got mad power issues. That's why I prefer to work in an environment where I'm left alone and pretty much trusted to perform the tasks. When I had an old boss who used to curse at me all the time I didn't take it personal as long as he kept that shit under control and I didn't feel disrespected.

But this ain't really a big deal because you just started working here so it won't be on a future resume/application or whatever.. It's not your career or anything major. Probably better you quit now than later.

I went through it after I replied like I do a lot of the time.

But it's definitely not that serious. It didn't have to do with your work ethic.. It sounded like they were just comin at you all crazy and shit so you lost your temper and went off. Nothing abnormal for a young man.. there will be other jobs.
