LR is better as far as emceeing goes, YE greatly improved there, and the production is also better.

I never saw why people liked CD more.....

They're both good, but I just liked the overall sound of CD better, its hard to explain. LR definitely had the more textured, complex instrumentals, and was arguably a better display of lyricism. But sometimes I just gotta go with that more head noddin' raw shit.

Late Registration is one of the greatest albums i have ever heard PERIOD!!!! Heard Em Say, Crack Music, Roses, Addiction, We Major (THE BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM IMO), Gone, & Late is better than a lot of rappers FULL albums right now

Late Registration is IMO Kanye's opus. It's his best album in every aspect. I love College Dropout, but from a production standpoint, I don't see how it was different from anything he was doing from '01-'03. Lyrically, it was solid, but just like every Kanye album, it had some so-so lines. Lyrics don't automatically kill an album's classic status though because they are true tried and tested classics that have average to below average lyrics i.e. Doggystyle. Late Registration was an improvement lyrically over College Dropout and the production on LR was more ambitious, but the execution matched it which is where a lot of albums fall short. Late Registration saw Kanye transition from a beat maker that rapped to an artist that produced. I think these songs are some of the best that Kanye's ever made:

Gone

Crack Music

Heard Em Say

Addiction

Touch The Sky

Bring Me Down

I was 14 when my sister bought it for me in 05' and it still is one of my favortie albums. Shouldve won the Grammy for album of the year in 05'. The production is FLAWLESS and kanye's technique is Bette then it was on college dropout. It's a very soulfull record and has every type of track from goldigger,to hey momma to we major. The skits are funny and I love the guests:Lupe,jay,nas,common,game,Camron,Paul wall, brandy.

I'm a ye fan have all his albums but if I had to rank them

1.Late registration

2.College dropout

3.graduation

4.808's and heartbreaks.

One of the best albums of the decade, great music experence

an album that proves you don't have to be a rakim type lyricst to make an amazing album
