I began my freshman year with terrible social skills, no experience, and a lot of awkwardness so I spent the entire time trying to catch up with everyone else on a social level. My social skills developed by junior year, and I probably could have lost it earlier than senior year, but I figured since I was still a virgin at that point that I should wait for a girl who I actually liked.

If you have at least average social skills and you're not too picky then no way should you still be a virgin by the end of your freshman year. But don't mention the fact that you're a virgin unless the girl asks you and you know she likes you.
