Trouble Man is Tip's best work since King. Solid rap shit, light on features, not too overly glossy or poppy, and not trying to be too tough. Why people slept on this, I don't know. At least he's gonna go gold.

Carter 4...

Both artists peaked years ago and Trouble Man brings some life back to T.I. while Carter IV just proved that sometime name value does more than actually quality. T.I. being the older artist and arguably having issues with his popularity still managed to put out a great album, while Wayne with infinite popularity and a ton of features squeezed out an album not worthy of being added to his Carter series.

I guess we see that despite all the nonsense Tip still has some hunger left and felt like he had something to prove, while Wayne is content coasting on past efforts because nobody will stand up and say the nigga got wack over the years. There's no doubt in my mind that if Trouble Man was garbage people would have written Tip off for good (and some have) but are completely into Wayne's wack shit.

Im not sure what there is to discuss i mean you pretty much summed the shit up.

we all know the reasons behind sales and having to do more with your a hit record, popularity and brand than the overall quality of your music

Tip got some dope tracks, but that's about it IMO

On the other hand, we got this non-talented hyped-up little troll

And I kinda hate that guy. In my eyes he stands for (almost) everything that's wrong in Hip Hop

One person has fallen off because of talent the other has fallen off because its not "cool" to like him anymore. Simple. Carter for is average at best and Trouble Man is a good album.

here we have two rappers that have reached epic heights in popularity, sales, and mainstream success.....

at the height of Tip's success he suffured career crushing blows, a close friend who was killed in a highway ambush and federal weapons charges that hit him on the chin career wise. before these blows he was a top tier hip hop heavyweight, still climbing in popularity and getting his feet wet with endorsements and the big screen.

u can say LiL Wayne was right behind or neck to neck with Tip before his career crushing situation unfolded, but whats a fact is that once Tip became consumed with trials, lawyers, and federal prosecutors the majority of hiphop consumers became consumed with LiL Wayne....

now we have the two rappers latest albums, Carter4 and TroubleMan.... one from a artist that was at his zenith popularity wise and one from a rapper that had fallen of (mainstream) tremendously.

I look at this as a true example of how popularity and sheep mentality clouds hiphop.... one album is weak and while the other album is solid work, i'm sure any conscious listener can dissect which is which.

chime in and discuss what u think of both albums and what u feel would be the case if both artists dropped these albums while in opposite situations career wise.

Trouble Man is a well rounded album while Carter IV is hyped recycled material. I couldn't even see Wayne make a comeback if he fell off mainstream wise because he's not the 2005-2007 Greatest Rapper Alive Lil Wayne anymore. He morphed into something else over the years.

Niggaz is sheep bruh.

I fux with the Carter 1,2 and some mixtapes from Wayne.

At no time in their respective careers did I ever rank wayne over Tip.

T.I. without those prison bids, reality tv (a result of the prior) and if he never dropped No Mercy, Trouble Man woulda have been inching towards Platinum now.

Wayne would have sold the same no matter what, people really are just sheepishly in love with him for whatever reason, not to mention Baby on behalf of Cash Money Records gives him the Gold plus package with every release

To call Wayne's draw-ability just hype though is disrespectful to him, you act like people dont know exactly what to expect from him, they just chose to buy it any way despite lack of quality.

Hype is a term usually reserved for people who are unproven to the mass but still get mad love, like Trinidad or French Montana.

Edit: This isnt a TI vs Wayne joint is it? If so T.I.
