It's a father/son thing.
My oldest gets cut by his dad's barber and my youngest isn't going to get a fade. He has curly hair like me and a natural line up, so I keep it cut short.
Going into the man cave isn't something that I like to do and I try to avoid it all costs.

I take my son most of the time, but my wife doesn't work so she does occasionally. I don't see anything wrong with it. She doesn't have a thottish demeanor and I've already established myself at the shop so everybody knows what's up.
Funny ass story though, lol. This dude came in the shop to get cut but apparently told his girl to stay in the car, and for good reason. Guess she escaped though cause she came up in the shop to holla at ol' boy, everybody staring. Another dude came in after she left like, "Y'all seen that half naked little red bone running round here?! She can get it fa' sho'!" Everybody got quiet waiting on ol' boy to be like, "yeah, that's me" but he didn't. So his barber threw him all the way under the bus like, "that's your girl, right!" All there other dude said was "my bad", then everybody bust out laughing. Dude sitting there like

I don't see what difference it makes.It's just a barber shop.I lived with moms so she would take me as dad was not around all the time and may have be incarcerated.

long as the spot is black i don't think it should matter. the whole thing with 'barbershop talk' is that it's exposure to cultural identity. man, woman, old, young...it's all community.
