It didn't help he dropped a weak ass response on a album that wasn't up to par with their last 3 or Jay or Nas' album at the time, Ether wasn't better than Takeover imo it was hard as fuck though and it was exactly what it had to be for Nas to win, not no lyrical shit he basically turned Jay millions of casual fans on him and had Jay stumbling and bumbling after, nobody remembers the stillmatic freestyle even though that shit was lyrically dope as fuck and had some hard hitting bars but it just wasn't etherous enough for what Jay had in store
