Fellas with just a simple tweak of my budget..I can be out of debt completely in 18 months by June 7th, 2018 =)

Sike I lied! I tweaked it again and I can be out of debt as early as 4/26/2018.. my goodness I motivated as fuck right now CARAJO

Thats why I made a focus groups thread.. these things helped me out so much in terms of paying debt and buying personal items. If I can get into the focus group next week, I will be able to remain on course to pay off my student loans on 6/22/17, with some moneys left over to buy my son stuff. This is a grind, but I cannot wait to be debt free and take my lady and son on a vacation. People don't understand how serious the "becoming debt free" game is CARAJO. You need a plan and go ham on your debts.

$3,024 student loan payment, 40-45% of my student loan payment obliterated. I did some rough math and I was stunned to find out that I could potentially pay off my student loans by Memorial Day 2017.

Update- thanks to some financial generosity, I can confidently say that my student loans will be gone by 5/11/17- 104 days after I committed to paying them off

I have roughly $1300 left on my note and $6900 left in student loans. I haven't started working on my Roth IRA yet. Working OT and discpline will able me to pay the car note within 45-90 days.

My issue is with saving. I hate to see my savings account dip under a certain number and I especially hate to see it not grow. Its like each time I get paid I feel like I'm not paying myself enough. Anyone else having a savings vs debt payment struggle?

@Young_Chitlin

Have a good budget and stick to it hermano. Your debts are manageable and can be paid off in a very reasonable amount of time. Like Dave Ramsey says, have a beginner starter emergency fund and once you get your debts paid off, build it up again. I'm happy that you're going to be soon in a great position to be putting money in Roth IRA. You have a debt amount that you can take care of soon and when you do you have your whole life ahead of you man to do some great things with your finances.

If I really work hard at it and find some focus groups, my final student loan payment can be around $240-$340. I guess you can say the focus groups would be classified as odd jobs because they kind of are in a way. My dad always told me ask yourself before buying something do you really need it? and when I tell myself no I don't really need it I deposit the money no matter the amount$5 $3 $10 into my bank and I call my student loan company to make a payment

Also how do you guys handle the money made from overtime? For me it varies bi-weekly but I would like some of your views on it?

If you already take a percentage of your net income towards paying yourself (savings, investments, emergency fund, etc), a simple route to put your overtime money is to the same route. If you don't have that percentage, I would say create the savings funnel with the overtime money.

One thing I've learned over the past week is that it's doubles game. It's all about doubling your money and your value by making your money work for you.

By the end of April 2017 I expect to finish paying off my student loans. I really will be on rice and beans for April 2017. It will be worth it though. Thank you to my tax return for the boost and my financial discipline, I can confidently say that I will pay off my student loans by the second check of April 2017. What a whirlwind 95+ days it has been. One more month and change to go fellas, one more month CARAJO!

When you get a chance check to see if your student loan company is on the stock market because that can really influence the interest you pay. I get charged $0.33 a day in interest because my student loan company is on the stock market

@Young_Chitlin much respect to your success. I'm rooting for you cuz. I paid my car note early. I threw those bastards $1100 to get of my back. Now I'm at $6700 in student loan debt and to honest this last debt seems the hardest to pay off. I could pay it off with gazelle intensity like D. Ramsey says but with my line of work (corrections) I need periodic releases and stress relievers along the way. Also haven't even started on my Roth IRA.

The finish line of debt freedom is so close but it's hella obstacles. I don't like the feeling of working extra hours but not saving the added income. I still pay extra on my loans but I'm not giving the creditors ALL of my extras. His method works. 100% facts. It just challenges you mentally.
