How this New Jersey teen earned $500,000 in college scholarships — with a little help from mom

There's really no story here .......beside the fact that she was a good enough student to where she was able to get accepted to a bunch of schools and played them against each other to see who had the most resource of financial aid they could take advantage of .......they didn't rake in half a million in aid .....that was what the combination of what was out there .....she did get enough out of Texas that they only have to pay $5200 out of pocket ......

seems like the moms is just pitching her website of how to look for scholarships

My son is in ASU and was almost completely covered by financial aid and scholarships. ......we working on a grant now for international studies that, hopefully if it comes through, will cover the rest of the college costs altogether ....with some change left over

Well however she's pitching it, I think it's a great resource for alot of parents that don't have the first clue about the college system and how things work.

Key points I took from this to keep in mind regarding my own child is not only to stress academics but also community outreach.
