Japan is like third in math skills, we r like 25... Perhaps we should look at their methods with a little more respect...

we're behind estonia and mexico too, how about we temper our expectations and try to pass them first before we start doing stuff the japanese are doing lol

adopting the metric system like some sane human beings would be a good start lol


i was taught this method which seems much easier

so when it come to 75 x 48, you mean to tell me? I'm in math, not art muthafucka. I can solve that in 30 seconds, without drawin shit. No calculator.

this is what i do in my head

75 X 48= 100 X (7 X 4) + 10 X (5 X 4 + 7 X 8) + (5 X 8)

=100 X 28 + 10(20+56) + 40

=2800 + 760 + 40

=3600

kinda similar to the trachtenberg system, but it doesn't scale as nicely as the digits increase

This is what I do in my head....

75 x 10 = 750

750 x 4 = 3000

then add 75 x 8 = 600

3600.

Multiples of 10 are a key tool in any complex math. That and organizing your thoughts.
