it might sound funny but the compliments i take serious are by older people because they have no ulterior motives. when some 50 year old lady says something she really means it, she knows i'm not going out with her.

That doesn't sound funny at all. I remember this old lady looked at me in the grocery store and told me I was pretty.... it made my day

I may notice a guy looking at me, or holding eye contact, but I assume guys do that to most women that they see. So I dont think that counts.
