Well, mainly on this forum. White Devil This white Devil that, but i deal with it a lot at work. Im an 8th native american and the rest is a clusterfuck of Italian Irish German Swedish and something else. So i look primarily white, but i work at a hospital thats funded by Native Corporations. It's mainly for Alaskan natives but serves Native Americans also, and everyone knows you have to be Native to work here. but most my days are spent at the front desk checking people in and ive had a lot of instances with people from out in the bush coming into the hospital and getting livid that a white person was working. ive never had anything thrown at me but just people walking off bitching that a honky is working here, one person talked to my manager and everything lol. But i mean as far as that, ive never been a cultural person, ive never celebrated one race, i dont have a "mother land" and i got non-biological family that are different races so i was always used to everyone being together, it wasnt until i got older in middle school that i knew other races hated eachother.

This thread couldn't have come at a more perfect time because my class has to read and discuss white privilege tomorrow and I'm tempted to not even go. I don't want to be the 1 black person with 19 sets of white eyes staring me down and making me the spokesperson for the race. Being made to feel like the token black person is offensive, IMO.

It's not about being shy or "talking slave shit". You said you don't really experience it unless you leave the hood or go to into the city, so maybe you don't relate.
It's a very awkward, and like I said, offensive position to be in. It's the fact that white people will either get very sympathetic and " I feel so ashamed" or they will get defensive about the topic. I'm just not up for it because it's all BS.
