It's never gonna be over because to each side they represent different things (underground vs commercial, money vs knowledge, etc) to hiphop fans. Both are my favorite rappers, I listen to each depending on my mood.

I was telling a coworker about the jay Electronica, Jay Z song. She refused to listen. She won't support anything dealing with Jay Z. Even if Jay Electronica a talented artist she stopped listening when he signed to Rocnation.

She's a pretty big Hip Hop head. Very knowledgeable about the culture and since she she is a photographer she gets into different events. She even turned down a photo gig at south by southwest because she refused to watch Jay Z perform. I asked her why and she said because he made takeover and Nas is her favorite artist.

Isn't it time to let it go. If they squashed the beef why can't fans let it go?

Turning down a job because of a song made more than a decade ago? She's fucking stupid

It just depends on what you stand for. I don't financially support ANY artist I feel is hurting the minds of our youth because I refuse to help them condition our young people. I also don't financially support ANY corporation that has said anything racist against black people publicly.

So, the person the OP is talking about is NOT an idiot. She's a fan who stands for something and she's more strict with her beliefs than others. Nas did make JayZ out to be some backstabbing, snake ass nigga, and if she believes what Nas was saying, I could see how she wouldn't fuck with JayZ on any level.

IMO JayZ's persona is one of the main problems with Hip-Hop. He's all about the money, and he's managed to birth a lot of the newer artists that have the same mental. So in return, we get wackass crossover singles and less valuable music.

JayZ also represents poison to our youth. Here he is, this self-proclaimed DRUG DEALER that made it rich IN REAL LIFE. Imagine the amount of kids he misleads with his poisonous persona. So in sum, I don't blame her for not supporting JayZ.
