Kelly and Usher both fell the fuck off is how. I'm not saying Usher is trash but Trey is the crooner now. He's got the looks, style, words and attitude. Every chick I know loves Trey. I agree with pop too.

He's not sitting on top of R&B.

Alicia Keys is, since she has the number 1 r&b song in the country.

Usher is a much better artist than Trey Songz.
I agree, but Usher seems to be losing that touch that he use to have both performance-wise & material-wise. With that said Trey Songz is so fucking overrated that it's not even funny. Granted nobody's selling albums like they use to, but dude is just over 600k after damn-near a year. Even if we say what he's sold thus-far equals over platinum a few years back I'm still not impressed, especially considering that it's been almost a year. Sometimes I think the game needs the next big thing so bad that the industry creates that by hype, promotion, & good ole Payola!

Anthony Hamilton just reached 500,000 yesterday and his album been out for damn near 3 years... the reason you people cant see how or why he is atop the R&B genre is because you only look at sales, which have absolutely no bearing on quality... This argument is getting old quick because the only rebuttal anyone can come up with is "he cant be on top cuz he aint sell that much" He's on top because he puts out the best music the last few years, period

R. Kelly is the king. The End

Until Usher recovers from whatever this phase he is going through is, R. Kelly is the king

Trey doesn't even have the discography to even been in the top 5 right now, you youngins keep wanting to crown whoever is hot at the moment instead of giving artists the space to develop themselves, Trey hasn't even put out a commercial effort that is actually better than his mixtapes, and until he can do that, he has some growing to do

I've heard his album & it's ok.....just OK! The level of quality on the album is not much better than any other pretty good R&B singer IMO. The fact is that Trey Songz is that next very well packaged artists that the industry puts out & pours big bucks behind in an effort to MAKE that artists more appealing than they really are. Mainly teens & young females take to him because of his looks. When that happens the concern with the music of little importance.

O, for the record, Anthony Hamilton appeals to a much smaller audience than Trey Songz does, his music is quite different than Trey Songz's, & let's face it.....not very woman find Anthony Hamilton attractive! LMAO!!

Usher's new album is approaching platninum status...
That's because of name recognition, not because it's a good album. Usher shit is sooooooooo average or less now-a-days.

I agree & I heard a song from Neyo the other day that ain't even out yet that is sure to make people think twice about Trey Songz writing skills at the very least. Neyo will not top him in popularity, but he's a much better all around artists even though I ain't a huge fan of him either.

Usher never really was a trendsetter, he was just fortunate to have the right people behind him (Diddy, Dupri, Jimmey Jam & Terry Lewis etc.) those guys placed Usher in unique eras (93-95, 97-99, 00-02, 03-05) Ushers impact used to be so huge that it would last for years, just like MJ, Janet, Sade,' Aaliyah, Maxwell, Akon etc. those cats all operate within distinctive eras. unfortunately, Usher has lost his staying power just like Mariah Carey. neither one makes timeless albums anymore. Usher will have some good music "there goes my baby" and have it directly correlate with cookie cutter B.S. "omygod." the people behind him slipped after 2005 and so has he.

also, Trey never really pushed major units. he just works really hard. I remember when he first came out on "gotta make it" & his collabs with Jim Jones back in 2005. I knew Trey was gonna get his recognition one day. each album release he comes harder than the one prior, and somehow he and his team have convinced the label to continue to pour more money into his brand every time out (he's had 6 SINGLES IN THE PAST YEAR.)

nevertheless, the stars have aligned for that man. Chris Brown faded, The Dream is slowing down, R Kelly got no promo & Usher is getting weaker & weaker while all the other guys in Trey age group & genre can't compete with him (Mario, Omarion, J Holiday, Jerimih) so it appears to be a Songz era. however Ne-Yo is still the man and extremely talented with a broader fan-base & subject matter.

LOL at Neyon not topping Trey in popularity, Neyo has multiple platinum and gold albums, Trey Songz has one gold album in his career. Yall are hyping that nigga up too much, dude is one step from being Pretty Ricky with his cheesy brand of R and B.
