"how hard is it to make a black panther film" good article

The thing is, who is going to push for the movie aside from fans?? A lot of people have to be somewhat vested in this concept before they can run away and go ahead with the movie. They built on the Avengers with recognizable figures that you were forced to sit down and wait until the end of the movie to connect with the other movies.

I'll be honest with you, the first time I heard of a Black Panther that wasn't a part of a group was playing Marvel Alliance, that's it. The desire for a movie I've heard from random comic fans, outside of that, I wouldn't have ever known of this character.

I am African-American myself, but the reason I went and saw Blade was the fact that the dude was half-vampire, had a sword, cut down and killed other vampires, and it was R-rated. It wasn't because he was black, though that was a plus, but the thing is, I had a remotely entertaining movie.

My point is, as an average fan, I am not clamoring for this movie to ever be made, which is no disrespect to the comic because the comic itself might have been great. Maybe I am out of it, but truthfully, why is there such a strong desire for this movie to be made, what is the real necessity for this hero's back story to be told??

Because its an incredibly interesting backstory. Its based on a culture/mythos that can span all the way back to a primal god (Panther God) right up until a modern up to date story arc. The Black Panther story doesnt soley have to be based on T'Challa....it has to climax and end with him sure, but you can still put together a pretty deep story line to tie either Captain America's WWII days or even further back to Thor's Asgardian mythos.

Secondly T'challa's story has tremendous cross over appeal due to the whole warrior king shit Caucasians enjoy. I'd argue there are far more white Black Panther fans than there are black. I also believe that there is the absolute perfect actor right there waiting for this role. Chiwetel Ejiofor.

He and he alone amongst all the other eligible niggas would be able to hold his own amongst the big personalities on screen when it comes to the Avengers movies. Because lets be real..thats the real tent pole, and all the 2nd sequels are just feeder movies at this point. Also Marvel needs another "Blade" character because lets face it Wes is done. The last joint was turrible. Black Panther would do numbers.

I posted this in another thread.

I agree with chiwetel playing him but if they wanna go with a younger approach, the french/african actor Omar Sy has the size and acting ability to play dude.

I was also saying the wachowski brothers, antoine fuqua or the nolan brothers should direct it.

This is funny because when marvel got thier current president of marvel studios he brought up the point he wanted to get a black panther movie out. Something must be going on behind the scenes

for casual fans they need to get a big time actor... imagine if idris a denzel played him every black moma and woman would wanna see it. the story is great they gotta get a good team to push it
