I honestly don't know
Kansas as a whole state is a shithole of boredom.
Who in their right mind would commit 3 or 4 years of living there every single day.

Cal got the best recruiting class take a look at his resume...its all about selling these kids a dream they can make it to the league.

If your a coach known to produce NBA players, can provide these kids with meal tickets (expenses paid) and have a top program any kid will commit.

Basketball is more about tradition than any other sport. Look at all the other schools that are winning. UNC Duke Kentucky gonzaga. Hell look at football. Consistent winner are in some small ass towns.

This.

Picking a school for sports based on how much "fun you can have" is just like picking a school for academics based on "how much fun you can have".

It's about the coach and the program. Period.

And you're forgetting that most of the top recruits played AAU, and AAU niggas travel more than the President, lol, so "sight seeing" ain't shit to them. You can go on vacation to anywhere in the world once you go pro.

And that is also why many of the "fun city" schools tend to struggle -- too many distractions.

Plus, every college has it's own isolated social scene and night life. So if you're in the right crowd, every night @ KU or any other small town school can be like kickin' it at the playboy mansion every night.

Forest for the trees.

yep because they by far have the strongest most dedicated supporters, most the time this is all these small towns/cities have ...i remember one of my homies unk telling me being in a low key discrete environment also allows you to get away with more when it comes to recruiting and all that other extra shit.......
look what happened to the schools in large cities like ohio state, usc and especially miami even SMU back in the day...i could go on but yall know what i mean(?)..

and Kansas bball tradition speaks for itself

To get top recruits to come there. Whats the selling point.
most of these kids could play anywhere like st. johns ,ucla,
georgetown, georgia tech. Someone educate me.

the same reason why kentucky and Uconn get top recruits, the same reason why boise state gets people to come to Idaho. Why would you go to the schools you mentioned and lose games and not be in the best position to make it to the NBA when you could go to Kansas or UK have a ball on campus and do whats best for your basketball career.

Because Bill Self produces winners, compound the winning mentality with KU bball tradition and you will understand why KU basketball program is one of the top 5. These basketball players @ KU are worshiped like Gods, so why wouldn't a top recruit go there?

I asked the question to basically stir up a discussion.

I definately know KU is one of top programs in the country.

So were Georgetown, Ucla, St. Johns and Notre Dame

But they arent now. How Kansas stays relevant was made a lil

clearer to me by the person who touched on the AAU aspect

And the ability to put guys in the pros is a huge factor.
