there is no possible way not to look cheap/broke when tryin to go dutch on the first date. especially if you're the one who did the asking

I don't know, there may be no way of saying it without coming off bad in her eyes.

But I agree though, first dates should be split. No matter who asks.

make it a conversational piece....

it's a first date, you're getting to know eachother.. spark up a conversation about how u don't like traditional gender roles like paying for dates, holding doors, and shit like that... u consider urself a respectful person, and u treat women with respect , but u don't see a reasonable answer besides "that's just what we're supposed to do... right?"

naturally as a female she's going to challenge that opinion....

and when she does....you say..

"iight bet... if you can convince me why i should give in to these gender roles...i'll pay for both of our dinners....if not... we going dutch shorty"

she's look at it as a game.. and u'll have fun...

just don't lose the debate....

letting someone know that you won't be paying their way on the first date? What's some clever ways to saying "We're going Dutch" without being an ass or looking cheap?

There is no right way to tell a woman you wanna split the date down the middle. Because no matter how you twist it, they'll take it as something negative. So the best thing you can do is just put it out there that you hope she doesn't mind going dutch tonight. You can even give her some lame excuse.

interesting....even if i offered most dudes wouldn't accept my money.

if i asked a dude out on a date, i would pay for him.

lol save up until you can esp if u did the asking

^^^^^^^There is some truth to this too though. If the guy is the one asking, then they should be prepared to pay. I mean why even ask if you can't afford or don't want to pay for the date?

with all these 2 for $20 deals out chea...u can't lose my nigs. Shit, Ruby Tuesdays got a buy one meal and get the other meal free....to much deals out chea to be losing. If anything else mane, tell that chick they froze your account due to fraudulent activity and you only got such n such dollars at hand, or tell her you had to bail out a very close relative out of jail the day of the date or had to do an emergency tranfser to help mama out.

I dont use these excuses alot but I can tell you that I have been 3-0 so far.
