ROFL @ this song

this the single?

shit is weak

"im not a star"

"mc hammer"

"no 1"

^^^ those are the type of beats ross sounds best on..

why fuck up a winning formula?

No1 sounds like a throwaway "Hello goodmorning" remix

BMF
John
Tupac Back
Im Not A Star
9 Piece (fuck it the entirety of the Ashes to Ashes mixtape)
600 Benz

......All came out within the past year. And im sure im missing more than a few songs.

Compared to pre Teflon Don, Ross was mostly known for his JUSTICE League/Inkredibles sound. Now ever since TD's release, he's been adding more and more of those gothic sounding shawty redd/luger influenced beats.

This post really makes me sad:

BMF came out in 2010
I'm not a Star came out in 2010
9-peice and Ashes to Ashes came out in 2010

John was produced by Polow da Don and was a remix of I'm not a Star for LiL Wayne

Tupac Back was a Meek Mill song
600 Benz was a Wale song and it sounded nothing like a Luger beat

The singles that Ross dropped for 2011: 'I Love my Bitches/ 'You the Boss

Biggest singles for 2011 'I'm on one, 'Break my Heart & 'That way....and as of today right now 'Anything to find You.

He mixing it up.

Key words in OP were "past year" and "Since Teflon Don's release".

Whether they're Ross songs or not is irrelevant. He's choosing to be associated with a certain sound. Not every song produced by Boi1Da is Drake's song, but guess what? A staple of Drake's production is the Boi1Da sound. Same principle applies. And since Meek and Wale are ROSS's artists, the principle applies even more.

And dude really? 600 Benz sounds nearly just like Tupac Back.

We're sayin' Lex Luger beats. Wanna be techinical? Lex jacked Redd' sound.

Song is wack, and to the Thread Starter just because you use Soul Samples doesn't mean your music is soulful. Just Blaze is a dope producer, but this beat has no real feel or soul to it.

Producer's are starting to cookie cut their beats just as majority of these mainstream rappers cookie cut their rhymes, Im not feeling this cut, the beat and/or especially the dead lyrics.

Okay past year.... my frame of reference is this year 2011, songs like Perfectionist, Made Men, Imma Boss, That Way, I'm on One, The way you love me, Welcome to my Hood, Free Spirit, Harsh, Bottles and Rockin J's, 100 Keys, and Can a Drumma get some.

In-house you got the Wale joint "Best night Ever" and the Meek Joint "Bodycount" to round out your musical taste.

The cool thing about being a D.J. is that I get to listen to all the songs, especially the ones not on the radio or in rotation.

And yeah the chord arrangement on 600 Benz make it sound a lot different to me than Tupac Back.

^ What's there not to get?

If they rap on average beats nobody would feel it ?

U cant tell em to go up the radio station and rip it over several beats and it actually be HOT ?

I bump em at times, but you dudes be acting like its some hidden type of greatness in their shit when its NOT. If fans talk more about ya production than the categories of you as a rap artist, then you're not that great homie

lol @ "ditching the Luger sound"

He only used it for one album so far & a compliation. Lex is still a relatively new producer. I'm sure he'll still do some more uptempo songs from Lex or another track like "That Way" with a more slower tempo Lex beat

Ross always had soul beats (see DTR). Even in TD he has Tears of Joy and Freemasons. And he's not gonna just stop something that's been working for years now. He still works with The Runners, even though they don't make hits like that anymore. This thread is a reach.

Yeah mane, what's this nigga talmbout righchere?
