After God's Son, Nas has kind of alienated a lot of his core audience without gaining any new fans. By core audience, I mean the fans that like the street anthems, gritty storytelling type tracks as opposed to the political, save Hip Hop type tracks. His last three solo joints focused too much on the latter. His previous albums were able to find that balance.

We have a winner. This and he makes the music he wants to make despite what's hot.

P.S. On the real though, who gives a fuck about sales? I never knew how much anybody's shit sold, I just knew if it was good, I was coppin'.
