How come Nas can't get to Platinum anymore?

The fact isn't why can't NaS go Platinum, the fact is does he even need to go Platinum. The man has had 8 Platinum albums, 3 Multiplatinum albums, 4 #1 albums. NaS has never had hit singles so for him to have that strong numbers for album sales shows you fans don't buy NaS for singles but for albums. If you look at NaS last 2 LP. "Hip Hop is Dead" is at about 900k so it's almost Platinum. "Untitled (Nigger)" Is at about 600k. So NaS does still have a core fanbase that will support him no matter what. His last Platinum album was "Streets Disciple" and that did not get the double LP credit cause it didn't meet the time requirements and that was 2004. I just think core fanbase is GOLD where as someone like Jay Z core Fanbase is Platinum/Double Platinum. Just look at his career:

If Nas wants to blow up on the radio, he needs a popish hook, and he needs to focus on being catchy rather than being technical.
