i think wayne can rap, but he is way too inconsistent when he sits down and writes down his verses he can be pretty good.

he's a good rapper but def not the best or one of the best ....
i 've heard nearly all his material and none of his verses, bars blew me away like a lupe, jay, nas, em, etc. line/verse
plus his music isn't timeless, i can't imagine 15 yrs youngins are going to be dissecting a "fireman" like a "dead presidents", "i gave you power", etc...
he's entertaining though

Wanye isn't terrible. However, he isn't great either. He seems too comfortable fitting right in to this new generation of terrible lyricist. 8 outta 10 Wayne verses make you say to yourself "Now I know homie is better than that"...I guess he figures that the public is eating it up so why even put much effort...

i was the first one out of anyone i know who was on Wayne. and i think that everyone should have the "best rapper alive" mentality, because if you believe it then your music will be better. carter 2 is the best wayne cd ever IMO. but now i think he feels like he doesnt need to prove anything anymore. he was being called the best rapper alive when all he was doing was putting out mixtapes. hes turning into nothing but a punchline rapper and his flow is gone. hes not even coherent in most of his shit. im not saying that he isnt a solid lyricist when he wants to be but IMO he needs to start writing rhymes again and stop putting shitout just to put shit out. alot of people think that if a verse has a clever simile or something that it was a great verse and since all wayne does anymore is try to be clever, normal listeners (not real hip hop fans), think he is a savior.
